World Day of Prayer is a worldwide movement of Christian women with many traditions who come together each year to observe a common day of prayer. On March 4th, 2017, The Ecumenical Women’s Forum will join our neighbors in celebrating World Day of Prayer in solidarity with the women of the Philippines at St. Thomas Indian Orthodox Church, 1009 Unruh Avenue, Philadelphia, PA from 9am to 1:30pm. The Keynote Speaker for the event is Sr. Jocelyn Edathil SIC, MD, PhD. Sr. Jocelyn is a practicing physician and professor at Temple University Hospital. She is also the first American born religious sister of Indian origin in America. She has been active in the ecumenical community since childhood. Sr Jocelyn is a well-known and highly esteemed devotional speaker nationally and internationally.
The Ecumenical Women’s Forum cordially invites all to join the women of the Philippines in prayer and song to support ecumenical efforts toward justice, peace, healing, and wholeness. The WDP choir plays a big part in the program. Please contact the WDP coordinator for those who are interested in joining the English and Malayalam choir. The first practice for all programs is scheduled on January 22nd at St Thomas Syro-Malabar Catholic Church, 608 Welsh Road, Philadelphia at 3 pm. We kindly request the participation of youths and adult members in the WDP activities. May God bless you all!
