It has been a true blessing and honor to have served as the secretary of Ecumenical Fellowship of Indian Churches in Philadelphia for the year of 2015-2016. I thank God for giving me the courage and strength to take this position and to be a part of this great group. This year, we were able to show strength and unity by conducting several new and successful events that incorporated our dynamic youth, talented children, and powerful women. We hosted the first EFICP Volleyball tournament, Bible Kaloltsavam, day of prayer, retreat for our youth, talent competition, college fair with many reputed universities, Christmas celebrations, and World Day of Prayer. We were also able to participate in the Papal Visit. It was our main goal and effort to promote the needs of our youth and children which we were successfully able to do as a strong group of leaders. A community is a social unit that shares common values. If community exists, both a sense of connectedness and a more cohesive social entity may exist as well. Building a sense of community is easy but maintaining this sense of community is difficult in the modern world. Spirit of community depends on the people’s participation and the intensity and centrality of that involvement and so the community development is often linked with a community planning. The Great Good Places that Christian people need are the home, the office, the Church and the community hangout or gathering place. So consciously projected and re-created community coming together around particular chosen ways of life and shared emotional connection which takes on life of its on is a divine vision through God. ICCCP is such divine vision and this is the time for us to plunge in for its culmination with a confident new spirit. Continue reading
We, the people of Philadelphia, have a great history of love and fraternal charity. Our Christmas celebration is above all, an expression of our mutual love and appreciation. Let us all try to bring Christ back into the midst of our culture, into our social life and political decision making.
