The ‘World Day of Prayer’ 2017 organized by the Women’s Forum of the Ecumenical Fellowship of Indian Churches in Philadelphia (EFICP) will be held on Saturday, March 4th 2017 at St Thomas Indian Orthodox Church, 1009 Unruh Ave, Philadelphia from 9.00 am (EST) to 1.30 pm (EST). The 2017 World Day of Prayer is based on the theme “Am I Being Unfair to You?” based on the lives of people in the Philippines. The main speaker of the event is Rev. Sr. Jocelyn Edathil SIC, MD, PhD.

Join women from 170 countries and observe World Day of Prayer to support ecumenical efforts toward justice, peace, healing, and wholeness. World Day of Prayer is a worldwide movement of Christian women with many traditions who come together each year to observe a common day of prayer. On March 4th, 2017, The Ecumenical Women’s Forum will join our neighbors in celebrating World Day of Prayer in solidarity with the women of the Philippines at St. Thomas Indian Orthodox Church, 1009 Unruh Avenue, Philadelphia, PA from 9am to 1:30pm. The Keynote Speaker for the event is Sr. Jocelyn Edathil SIC, MD, PhD. Sr. Jocelyn is a practicing physician and professor at Temple University Hospital. She is also the first American born religious sister of Indian origin in America. She has been active in the ecumenical community since childhood. Sr Jocelyn is a well-known and highly esteemed devotional speaker nationally and internationally.
The Ecumenical Women’s Forum cordially invites all to join the women of the Philippines in prayer and song to support ecumenical efforts toward justice, peace, healing, and wholeness. The WDP choir plays a big part in the program. Please contact the WDP coordinator for those who are interested in joining the English and Malayalam choir. The first practice for all programs is scheduled on January 22nd at St Thomas Syro-Malabar Catholic Church, 608 Welsh Road, Philadelphia at 3 pm. The Ecumenical Fellowship of Indian Churches in Philadelphia is celebrating its thirtieth annual Christmas celebrations which will be held at the George Washington High School, 10175 Bustleton Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19116 at 3:00 PM on Saturday, December 10, 2016. His Grace Zachariah Mar Nicholovos, Metropolitan of the North East American Diocese of the Malankara Orthodox Church will inaugurate the function. The Ecumenical Fellowship of Indian Churches in Philadelphia is hosting this year’s Christmas celebration on Saturday, December 10, 2016, at the George Washington High School. As in the past, this year also we will have biblical themed cultural programs and each of the churches will get seven minutes of time to do a show. Each church could select one performance like a skit, group dance, group song, tableau etc. Information of selection of church performance for the Christmas is invited. The Christmas Season is very fast approaching, and our Ecumenical Christmas Program will be held on Saturday December 10th, 2016 at George Washington High School, Philadelphia. The Ecumenical Christmas Choir plays a big part in the program. Our First Ecumenical Christmas Choir practice will be held on Sunday October 30th 2016 at 3:00pm at the St. Thomas Indian Orthodox Church Unruh Ave. This will only be for 1 practice. The rest of the practices will be held at the St. Thomas Syro Malabar Catholic Church, Welsh Rd starting Sunday on Nov 6th, 2016. All parishes are requested to send a minimum of 5 or more representatives who sing consisting of Men, Women and Youth for the Ecumenical Christmas Choir. For those interested in joining the Choir please email your parish, name, email address and phone number to Choir Director Mr. Biju Abraham by October 29th, 2016. Last date to join the Ecumenical Christmas Choir will be Sunday November 13th, 2016.

Bible Kalotsavam 2016 will be held at St Thomas Malabar Catholic church, 608 Welsh rd. Philadelphia, Saturday October 22nd. So far we have 230 children registered. Rev. Fr. Johnykutty George will inaugurate the event at 8:45 AM And hoping to finish the program by 4 PM.
